At Bake My Day, there aren't many requests we haven't seen before. We love it when we have the opportunity to be creative, and we always strive to fulfill our customers' wishes. Some are adventurous, others historical, while still others are based on a piece of Danish heritage. Therefore, we have put together a small potpourri of special cake designs in this article.
Birthday Cake from Westeros
This birthday cake was ordered by a big Game of Thrones fan and takes us on a trip to Westeros and the Iron Throne.
This delicious and ominous two-tiered cake is a classic chocolate cake topped with a fondant throne handcrafted by our skilled confectioners. This version, however, is probably not one many would fight to sit on, but it can, on the other hand, be eaten.
Although we tried, we still believe that turning 40 is less frightening than White Walkers. One thing we are quite sure of is that it tasted better than them.
Maude astray - a "traditional" christening cake
The next cake also transports us to another time, but a more real past. It is a christening cake with a stylish design in light, bright colors, where attention has been paid to the details. The pram is handcrafted in a classic design, inspired by the fashionable look of the 19th century. You almost get the feeling of walking through the cobblestone streets of old Copenhagen on the little one's first outing.
Underneath the design, there's a light vanilla cake combined with a soft and fresh passion fruit cream. Yum.
The "traditional" Danish cake
As mentioned, sometimes we also receive requests that are a little out of the ordinary. Even though the request concerns something of the most Danish we have. This cake represents something completely different from the other cakes – namely, the classic Danish green beer crate. The cake is a 1-1 reproduction, but even though it's tempting, we cannot recommend attaching it to the back of a moped, even if cake on the go sounds like a delicate concept. It is, however, a welcome guest at any Christmas lunch or company party.
The sides and bottle necks are handcrafted in fondant by our fantastically skilled confectioner. Behind the green "crate" hides a delicate French chocolate cake with salted caramel and a delicious vanilla cream. It is one of our absolute favorite flavor combinations.
Fun, family and football cake
Sports are loved in all parts of the world, but some fan groups are just very dedicated. This is also the case here. The design is inspired by the NFL team Philadelphia Eagles, their colors, and their logo. The eagle on top is handcrafted from fondant and, according to our communications officer, who is an ardent NFL enthusiast, it's spot on.
This delicate monster of a cake consists of layers of delicious Red Velvet cake with a soft cream cheese frosting evenly distributed between each layer. The soft texture of the cream cheese frosting complements the elegant flavor of the Red Velvet cake and is one of our most requested flavors. A heavenly dessert and right on target if you're a sports fan. Because what fan hasn't dreamed of adorning their birthday party with a delicious cake in their team's colors?
